Squeeeee!!!!!

I am so ready to abandon my life from Nov 11 through Dec 28 or so.

Sordid:
I try to not get my enthusiasm up much, just in case it proves to be as crap as Oblivion.

Seconded. It all sounds nice, but wait until it's the same old no point in exploration/interpol warrant for stealing an apple/mudcrab dialogue/boring storyline generic RPG with an even more simplified skillset, whose art design doesn't even try to be original anymore.

I've said this elsewhere, but Fallout 3 makes me a bit more optimistic than I might otherwise be.  There were still a lot of issues in that game, but they seemed to understand what they did wrong with oblivion and improve upon a lot of the weak areas.

From what I've seen, they still seem to get how things went wrong in Oblivion.  it looks a lot nicer, especially the character design.  The level scaling is supposed to be tuned way back more comparable to Morrowind, and the skill system looks much more dynamic and interesting than the older ones.  I think my biggest worry is how the PC interface looks.  The one shown in previews seems nice enough for use with a controller, but it looks totally unsuited for mouse play.

It's impossible to tell for sure until people sit down with the game, but I'm cautiously optimistic.  I won't even consider buying the game until I hear good things about the final version from sources I trust, but I'm letting myself become hopeful that this will happen.
