Has anyone else enjoyed this book?
I was surprised at how much evolution is brought into the current theory of viral spread amongst species. The viral substrate of our world is incredibly dynamic and evolving right along with us. Viewing us as the third species of Chimp really hit home for me and made the passage of microbial life between us, chimps and bonobos so logical. The fact that for millions of years our ancestors lived in isolated groups away from the rest of the jungle inhabiting great apes created our own weakened immunity to the primate fauna. Adding to this fact, our congested agricultural life, worldwide travel with ease, and our close quarters with our vast collection of domesticated animals has created the perfect Viral Storm for future pandemic. Great read!
