Star Trek: The Next Generation, Season 8
« on: Nov 01, 2011, 03:47:53 PM »
Don't do Twitter too much, but was introduced to this fairly new account and am loving it!  The owner tweets funny episode summaries of what his imaginary season 8 would be like.  Some examples:

Quote from: TNG_S8
Riker's ex-girlfriend arrives and dies, leaving behind a pile of glowing dust and a mystery. Picard is trapped on a turbolift with a horse.

A duplicate Enterprise with a duplicate crew proves to be a nanobot/Borg evolutionary leap. Riker's trombone gains sentience, grows a beard.

First contact is jeopardized by Data's jokes. Worf goes on a blind date, criticizes her as he eats a bowl of maggots.

A pod of quantum dolphins are struck by the starboard nacelle, Picard defends himself in the dolphin murder trial. Guinan learns hockey.

Wes rebuilds the Genesis Device for fun, with dire consequences. Riker sees a spider in his shower, immediately detaches the saucer section.

Picard and Riker fix the political problems of an entire planet using common sense. Dr Crusher develops a small hypospray addiction.

So this got me thinking about making my own episodes and I tweeted a couple back:

"Engines are disabled. Ship spins for no reason. Troi’s alien possession holds the key. Data experiments with human spirituality."

"Antimatter leak in the warp core. Geordi rolls under the containment door just in time. Spot finds love in a Labradoodle on deck 7."

"Q takes the senior staff to early England to teach them the importance of dental hygiene. Nothing happens while they are gone."

Not wanting to hog all the fun, I thought we could all add our own here.  Perhaps if it's popular enough we could start other fictional season thread for other shows.

Awesomesauce.

After luckily averting the disaster because he was taking a shuttle on a sythehol-fueled joyride, Miles O'Brian is must save the Enterprise after every other member of the crew is shrunk to 1/1000th their original size by a passing spacial anomaly.

I once passed a spacial anomaly.

Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.”

A plot; a spacial anomaly threatens, and succeeds, in trashing the bridge. Gets resolved by treknobabble. B plot; Riker's holodeck ::::cough cough::: "addiction" ::::cough cough::: begins to interfere with his duties and his meatspace relationships. Also, Barclay (who helped Riker get through his holodeck sex DTs) considers transferring to a ship not filled with 300 "commanders" for the obvious advancement opportunities.

Wesley returns from his creepy wanderings with the pedo traveler. In his time exploring man/boy love in the neverworlds, he has gained powers comparable to the Q, something he wishes to hide from the crew, wishing to return to a life of dorkhood and normality. His inability to adapt to his godlike powers and his nagging guilt about washing out of the Academy leads to tantrums that threaten to tear apart the enterprise. It is up to Dr. Crusher to help her son regain his humanity, but it may be to late. She must choose between her son and her ship.

The B plot revolves around Geordie blowing it with a lady.

Picard does not inhale either.

The gorn make a re-appearance and the dinosaurs kick the living crap out of the enterprise crew. Decide to join federation so they can guard the rest button.

Part 2: Picard debates with ship over necessary violence. Ship disagrees, threatens to blow the crew out the airlock to stop the violence. Shuttlecraft Galileo gains sentience too. Convinces Enterprise to stop the Romulans. Also has sex with Riker.

Do you have a higher resolution image?  That's tough to read.
