Crap. Sucks. Huge disappointment.

I started to watch Grimm, thinking it would have something to do with the fairy tales. While doing so I read a blurb about it and I saw his first flash and thought "This is just "They Live" but with supernatural monsters instead of aliens".
So I turned it off.

That would be fine with me, my issue is the horrendous writing. For instance, the cop protagonist shoots a guy in the line of duty and all of his coworkers treat it like it was a daily occurrence. There was no emotional reaction from anyone. He wasn't placed on mandatory suspension while the shooting was investigated... nothing. It was just "Oh, you shot a guy. Anyway, wanna go grab a coffee?"

I've liked it well enough.  Not great, but not horrible.

This struck me as odd as well (you meant the first guy he shot, in the street with his aunt, right?).  Also, in the first episode, one of the partners shot a fleeing suspect in the back.  The guy was unarmed, and running, and they shot him in the back and killed him.  And it was seen as a good thing.  WTF!?

But, I am at least vaguely interested in the story, so I'm still giving it a chance.

I think the premise is good and I think actors are ok, I particularly like the ummm... big bad wolf guy.

What fails is writing.  The episode plots are horrible, the dialogue is horrible, they just don't know what to do with the concept.  Fire the writing team and bring on the people who know their craft.

Yeah, that's basically my critique, great concept: awful execution.

+1

If it was scarier or more serious it would be so much better... but it's not.

Hell, never mind scary.. just have some logic and realism when it comes to how the characters interact with each other, their jobs, and the world at large, etc.. It's just so fucking fake. I literally haven't watched it since that awful awful awful scene in which the police lieutenant guy goes up to Grimm and says something along the lines of "So you killed a guy today. Great jorb! See you tomorrow at work! Obviously you won't have any psychological issues stemming from killing another person, nor will you have to face any sort of internal investigation to ensure that the shooting was justified!"

I missed the premier but have caught a few episodes since then.

I kind of like it.

Isn't it like a rip off of Supernatural mixed with Once Upon a Time?

Agree with everything said so far, though no mention of the horrible face transformations yet?

The subtle ones like the hot blonde lawyer/hexen are kind of neat, but the rest are borderline furry art or some unimaginative arrangement of scales.
