Nice long life.
Nobody these days holds the written word in such high esteem as police states do.  What statistic allows one to identify the Nations where Literature enjoys true consideration better than the sums appropriated for controlling and suppressing it.

Nice long life.

Very long. I first saw him in December Bride in 1955.

My first thought was that Harry Moragn is Dexter Morgan's dad.

He probably first entered my life as Colonel Sherman Potter, but he burned his presence into my mind as Judge Coffey in Inherit the Wind.

No disrespect to Mr. Morgan, but my first reaction to this news was "Holy mackerel--you mean he was still alive???"

Yeah, that happens a lot.  When Arnold Stang died in 2009, I was shocked he hadn't done so years ago.

Alan Alda is my favorite from MASH but he's a close second.

Though he played a nice guy on TV, this was not always the case in real life. A few years ago, he was convicted of beating his wife.
