Those are both pretty cool tracks, especially the White Sea one. Reminds me a bit of Blonde Redhead, whom I've already posted in this thread once, but always deserve a repeat:

Blonde Redhead - 23

That whole album, 23, is great. Highly recommended.

You might also enjoy Emilie Simon:

Emilie Simon - Fleur De Saison (12.12.09)

This isn't the best quality available... but the presentation!

I might think of a few more later, but those are two that popped into my head.

Thank you for posting that Blonde Redhead song. I like it a lot. I've seen their name here and there, but I don't think I had ever heard anything from them until now. I will definitely give that album a listen. I think "Fleur De Saison" is good too, but I don't like it as much. I'll check out the studio version too, though.

I listened to the album 23. I think the title track is my fav, but I have to give it a few more listens.

I also just listened to the studio version of "Heftig". It's an intriguing song. I listened to samples of the other songs on that album at Amazon and ended up searching for the song "Samme Stof Som Stof" on YouTube. Some parts remind me of "Hunter" by Björk. I like their sound. I might just have to buy that album.

"The Underdog" - Spoon (but really this list is born of your entire list, I'm just using spoon as my primary inspiration)

1. The New Pornographers - Letter from an Occupant
2. Wolf Parade - This Heart's on Fire
3. Tapes n Tapes - The Illiad
4. The Rural Alberta Advantage - Don't Haunt this Place
5. Broken Bells - The Ghost Inside
6. Built to Spill - Trimmed and Burning
7. Frightened Rabbit - The Modern Leper
8. Okkervil River - For Real
9. Figurines - Skeleton
10. Department of Eagles - No One Does it Like You

Had to pop in and say thank you for this NM.

I liked this playlist the first time I listened to it, and it has grown on me with each repeated listen (which is in the dozens of times now).  Such great songs here.

I've listened to a few of the albums each song is on, but haven't gone back to them to get a feel for each band, but these tracks are just all aroung great.

You know what is a really awesome song?

CIA by Ted Leo and the Pharmacists.

Man got to sit and wonder 'why, why, why?'
Tiger got to sleep, bird got to land;
Man got to tell himself he understand.”

4. The Rural Alberta Advantage - Don't Haunt this Place

The male vocalist on this reminds me a lot of Ben Kweller.

Or Jeff Mangum

I dunno if it'd fit into your tastes, but have you listened to any of The Builders and The Butchers? I don't know what genre they are, and frankly don't care. I like them. You should too.

The thread hasn't been inactive long enough to be a zombie.  It is just a cooling corpse right now :)

Any specific albums or tracks you can recommend by them?
