That list isn't mine btw, just an actual compilation that I stumbled on.
If you like the Babyshambles song.
Check out Baddies Boogie, Deft Left Hand, and French Dog Blues. A few listens in and there's these great little melodies that appear. I love the wordplay in those songs too. "if or when you're behind bars/or infront of one, as you are". There's some good stuff on the first Babyshambles album too. Down in Albion is so perfectly English.
And of course, Babyshambles frontman, Pete Doherty, also fronted The Libertines, who no one seems to know in America, but we're amazing. Rawer and heavier than Babyshambles- and most everything else ever. Check out What Became of the likely Lads, Time for Heroes, Vertigo. Damn there's only two albums and they are both must-owns. Up the Bracket is up there with Blonde on Blonde in my book (and I have a Dylan tattoo)
The Libertines lyrics are great too. From "Arbeit Macht Frei" -her old man/ he don't like blacksor queers/ yet he's proud we beat the nazis/ how queer/ RAWRRrrrrrRRRRRRRRRRAAWWWRRRR
And I like: 'I've been told if you want to make it in this game/ you gotta have the look, you gotta have the luck.
Turn your speakers in full and check out Horror Show by the Libertines.
I'm assuming you know the well known santo gold stuff. It's decent stuff.
