For real? That's sick... Alright you are reading in your first language, but still, isn't that like more than 200 pages of not so straight forward language/day? It was awhile since I read those though, maybe I just remember them as super long?

Dragon Reborn is one of the shortest of the series. My copy is about 650 pages, so depending on whether the 28th is included he did 600 to 700 pages in 6 to 7 days.

100 pages in 3 hours sounds reasonable.

What Caffiene said.  Dragon Reborn is approx 674 pages, and there is a three day interval, whereas Shadow Rising almost twice as long and there was a ten day interval.

I estimate I read about 90-110 pages an hour while reading the Hunger Games and HP, but those books are really easy reads.  WoT has been a slower read because of the internal languages used (many of which seem to include five syllable words at a minimum), so I'm guessing my speed for those books is about 70-90 pages an hour or so (just a guess, my Kindle copy of these books doesn't have page info, only percentage completed).

Since I started reading again, I remembered how much I love it.  How the hell did I forget that?   I've been forgoing TV most nights to read instead, so I think I'm reading on average 4-5 hours on a weekday, and maybe 4-5 hours total over the weekend.  I should be able to get through any of the WoT books in less than five-seven days, so I'm a little unhappy with how long it took me to read Shadow rising.  I want to finish Fires of Heaven no later than 21 May.

he's not--skeptress is at 31 ;D

I blame the death of my last kindle and computer for my paltry 14 books. And Game of Thrones.

Right... Time to get started. I dont know why I havent been reading much this year, so its time to fix that.

My to-read list so far:

Plus any earlier Wheel of Time and Steven Erikson books necessary to remember wtf is going on. And Im not sure about the RA Salvatore book... I won it as part of a competition, and its the second book in a series.

After I get through those I have about another 12 on a list of books I want to buy.

Hey, the Erikson saga thing (I forget the exact name of the series) is on my to-read list, too. I've got the ebook version of the first book of the series and a hard copy I picked up for $0.50 of one of the later books.

Seriously, they dont make it easy to refer to the series...

The series subtitle on the Erikson books is "A tale of the Malazan book of the fallen". Except the book by Esslemont on the top of the pile is part of that world too, and his ones are subtitled "A novel of the Malazan empire". So if you say just "the Malazan books" it confuses the two slightly separate series... but if you say "the malazan book of the fallen series" then youre just using too many words.

Fail :(

Didn't finish until 23 May.

I'm only going to read four books this month if I'm lucky, instead of the seven I completed in Apr.  Maybe I should intersperse some Pratchett books in between the WoT books, since I'm in the arduous section of the series.  I still like the books, but the books are a bit overly descriptive right now.

I've been wanting to read it too and they have it at our Booksamillion but they never seem to have a copy of the first book of the series available.
