I’ve heard many references to Carl Sagan in SGU conversations, and I thought people might be interested an interview Carl did with Mary Hynes for TV Ontario (our version on PBS). The topics range from Carl’s book Pale Blue Dot to the formation of planets and stars, through our place in the universe, to the inadequacies of science education.
http://archive.tvo.org/video/120034Mary Hynes went on to become the host of the CBC program Tapestry (which features interviews focusing on religion and spirituality), and while she can be maddeningly credulous at times, she has done a number of interviews with skeptics like Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, and Richard Dawkins. She asks them very challenging questions, and their answers can be more interesting and compelling than when they're interviewed by someone from the skeptical side.
