There’s a popular meme making the rounds called “What I Really Do“… here’s a perfect example:





But there isn’t one for atheists… so reader BenZ came up with this:

I'd barely heard of this before the inevitable counter-reaction started to kick in.  People are now starting to complain about the meme on Facebook.  And there are satires- the one for trumpeters has six identical pictures of a guy drinking beer.

But I would say AxeGrrl got in under the wire.  Good job.

*giggling*  I wasn't aware of this at all until I scrolled though the comments on the FA blog and saw this:

"This meme has been beaten to death.  In fact, there is already one of these that show six different cartoon images of a horse being beaten to death."

Meh.  As long as the use of the meme is clever I think it still has life in it.  These were pretty clever IMO, and don't even come close to actual worn-out memes like the "took an arrow to the knee."

Yea it's weird to me to see a meme get played out before I've seen it... not to say I'm a meme expert, but normally if the backlash is visible enough to see, the meme itself was visible enough for me to see at some point.

Here's a suggestion to improve it: keep the Islamic beheading, but put someone in flames at the stake to represent how Christians see us. That would be both funnier and fairer.

I considered making one for myself, but then I realized that probably nobody gives any thought at all to what an arts administrator does.
