I think NBC put "Awake" to sleep.

I just couldn't get into the show. Each episode contained two separate stories, but each was too dull to provide much interest. Ultimately, just another cop show, with a novel gimmick but with all the usual tropes. I'm sick of cop shows, even one's with clever gimmicks.
If you still hold the same views now as you did in high school, you probably should reexamine those views.

Did you watch the final 3 episodes? Like I said they really turned the tired trope on its head and other than the somewhat dull last 5 minutes of the series was really exciting.

If you stopped watching at some point earlier you can read my spoiler earlier in the thread to catch you up to episode 9 or 10 and watch from there.

As much as I hate decide for yourself endings, especially with such a complex mechanic at play, I appreciate they had to scramble to give audiences a satisfying conclusion. At least they didn't pull the 'Lost' spiritual nonsense.
Back to the finale, the actress playing the captain was bloody impressive and really saved the series in its final moments.

Interview wherein the story and season 2's plans are laid out: http://www.examiner.com/article/dream-on-awake-creator-sheds-light-on-the-series-finale-and-more

FYI, the finale we saw was what was planned from the beginning.  This show would've done a lot better on cable where they wouldn't have to worry about serialization at all, and could've mitigated the Case of the Week's prominence and focused on the story arc.
