So, according to certain other beliefs, I just sent Charlie straight down to hell? Then again, I think my metaphysical powers as an atheist is about zero, so probably not. Things like this almost makes me happy there is no afterlife. With convert-o-trons all over the Internet, the future of souls could end up being rather mobile...

Our metaphysical powers are probably at least as strong as those of the folks declaring dead atheists and others to be Mormon now. Kind of the whole point of the link really.

I love it! As a devout mormon for 20 years I personally stood in proxy for the baptism, endowment and sealing of a good many people, a few of them my own relatives.  Gaying them up now would be funny, might just have to do that after a bit of wine this week-end ;-)

Nice offer, but you're too late! When I lived in UT I wondered about learning to brew beer, but since moving to France we're inundated with cheap and delicious wine and beer offerings and we do partake ;-) I wouldn't drink Sake if it were free, that stuff burns my insides!!! How do you do it?

If the Sake burned your insides then you didn't have good Sake. Japan categorizes Sake into a wide range of classifications based on quality, alcohol level and filtration level. Sake is as varied as wine or beer, but because it represents a smaller market segment it's hard to get a good selection in the USA. Unless there's a sizable Japanese population in your area you're unlikely to have access to more than a handful of the cheaper brands.

Temperature is also a major factor. Some Sake is best at room temperature, other Sake needs to be heated and others chilled to taste right.

Sake should be smooth, with no alcohol burn. The flavor comes largely from the koji and yeast used to produce it, with most sake makers preferring a yeast that ferments cleanly with few to no flavors of its own. There are even official yeast strains maintained by the Japanese government.

Thanks for the info. Very few japanese people where I live (or Asians in general), that's probably why restaurants only sell the cheap stuff.

In that case what you experienced was probably similar to judging all beer based upon warm, flat Bud Light. Since all you have access to is the metaphorical equivalent of warm, flat Bud Light, there's not much point in trying Sake unless you do some traveling.

I see the need for posthumous baptism for Mormonism to internally consistent, but jeez, how stupid do they think God is?

"Well, non-Mormon guy, you didn't follow my rules, plus you weren't a Mormon, so I put you in Hell for the last fifty years... but good news for you, your Mormon descendants baptized you! So up out of Hell you come! Which planet do you want to be God over now?"

Even if Yahweh existed, I don't see Him doing that.

I tweeted mitt with the hashtag #mormonsIdebaptised that joesph smith and brigham young were both debaptised and baptised as pastafarians. Then I tweeted mitt I did the same to his dad. Then I told him he was a pastafarian and owed me 20 million in tithes.
