more likely it got poor rating because of bad scheduling, and because it was new bad ratings got it pulled.

If bad scheduling directly caused bad ratings and bad ratings caused the cancellation, it makes no sense to say bad scheduling didnt also cause the cancellation. (Something can have more than one cause)

the truth (the reason why 'this and only this') should rather be that it is isn't quite so simple the misspeaking claimed.

I... ... huh? Try again :P
To me that reads like its been through Google Translate a few times.

except that bad scheduling was only coincidental, not causal.
a. imagine two shows with bad ratings, one with bad scheduling one with good. the former might get canceled while the later gets moved to a worse timeslot
b. imagine two shows with bad scheduling, one with bad ratings, the other with good. only the former will is likely to get canceled (ceterus paribus).

the truth (the reason why 'this and only this') should rather be that it is isn't quite so simple the misspeaking claimed.

oops. remove the 'is'. :P
if 'bad scheduling causes cancellations', rather than only, and only potentially, contributing to (or even being incidental to) causes of cancellation, we should think b. impossible.
moreover, on that hypothesis we could put on our TV exec. hat, and attempt putting Colbert or South Park on at 5pm or 11:25pm, or whatever you like, and see if we can cause known popular shows with good ratings to get canceled. (note also that we haven't even spoken of in what country the malicious scheduling occurs).

also, this reminded me of this:

then your causal account regarding Edwards needs revision.

That makes no sense whatsoever.

I can say that Firefly got cancelled because of bad scheduling and advertising on the Fox network. Does that mean every show that ever got cancelled has to have been caused by bad scheduling and advertising on the Fox network in order for me to be correct?

Thx Caffiene, I was having a hard time understanding Godslayer's critiquing of my comments.

My 'casual account' of Edwards was more of a rant directed at people I've talked to in the past that were - amazed by Edwards or loved his show or just wondered if he was real.  Point is I don't care why he got taken off the air, I'm saying if he could actually talk to dead people this would turn science on its head as we have never experienced or 'talked to' a mind absent a brain.  He would be ridiculously famous and people would be lined up around the block to talk to him.  Hey, I never met my grandparents, I'd love to ask them what it was like in Germany and the Ukraine at the turn of the century- he would be so in demand the networks would be hounding him.

And the hounding networks?  Oh ya , they canned him.  He's a fucken fake and an arrogant asshole to boot.  South Park pegged him correctly, "Biggest Douche in the Universe.

Wow, this thread must have gotten off topic in record time, even by internet standards.

So, saying that Dr. OZ has hit rock bottom?  Kinda like saying a cat fish has hit rock bottom, isn't that where a bottom feeder belongs?

I didn't claim to know, I said I imagine it has something to do with...

It got canned because John Edwards is a total fraud.

how does it read in your imagination?

'canned because John Edwards is a total'?

have you just now learned that sections of text often make no sense without the context in which they were written?
