Well I do read the thread and respond to who I want to. I don't see the difference in a post that's edited with the next response versus just having another post.

Its like writing in all caps: the message is the same, but the presentation makes it sound different.

At least for me, a string of posts all by the one person comes across like one of those people who like to tell those breathless stories wheretheydidthis *gasp* andthentheywentanddidthat *gasp* andthentheydidtheotherthing *gasp* anditwasreallyinteresting.

Its stop start stop start... When multiple people are posting it makes sense that things stop and start, because its a conversation. When its just one person posting, its like talking to yourself :P

If the response was to the same person i edit in, or related to the same sentiment, but if it's a new thought or response to a different post quotes of course then I have a new post.

What I hate are text walls. Perhaps this is why multiple posts are preferable to me.

Beyond aesthetics and form, it reduces number of posts per page and spaces things out.

Another thing I hate is when folks don't put demographics info on their profile.

Or you could just put Godslayer on ignore and the problem almost solves itself.

It's not against the rules to post in a thread in rapid succession, unless it's being done disruptively. There's a 30-second wait time between posts a single member can make, mainly to prevent rapid-succession posts from becoming disruptive.

I know it's annoying when combined with the no-edit rule in Mafia games, but I don't know of any ways around that.

The worst is with the PMs.

And I thought it was bad with a 5 second delay.

You forgot the biggest offender, also ignore only makes it less worse.

Yep.  Instead, you just have a whole page of "You are ignoring this user.  Click here to see this post."

True, but it takes up less space at any rate.  BTW, who is the worst offender?  I'm drawing a blank.
