It's my road.

I come from a town where 50% of the land is leased to gas companies for drilling.

Please don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

I don't even know what kind of ulterior motive you're trying to put on me. I really do believe everything I've said here.

Obviously I don't think that people should be able to stop a black family from moving in next door, but I also don't think people should be allowed to do anything they want. For example, do you have a right to dump 100 gallons of diesel fuel in a stream running through your backyard every day, just because you want to? I don't think so. There isn't a clear line for what should be allowed or not allowed, but it is my belief that fracking, at least at this time, falls over the line of too dangerous. I understand that you may disagree, but it's disingenuous to argue that it should be entirely up to the property owner without concern for other people.

What about those who use local creeks for other purposes and would be harmed by water withdrawals?

Companies like NALCO that are built around clean water and sustainability are heavily involved in opperations such as fracking. In the long run stuff like this will probably result in better use of existing wells, limiting how much we have to drill in new areas, and cleaner water overall.
common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Isn't fracking a swear word in Battlestar Galactica?  Who doesn't love to frack?
