Episode #351
Anders:
I don't know. If someone harvested drug addicts for... something, killing them or leaving them severely wounded in the process I think (I hope) people would react. Not as much as they would if it were nice, clean and healthy people dying but still. I'm an optimist.
seaotter:
But nobody cares about them now, and helping them would have benefits for society in general.
Anders:
Sadly that's the case. I think they are seen as unclean - not so much in the physical sense but in a spiritual, moral sense. And talking to them or helping risks contagion of some sort. I know there's a streak of that in me at least. But I'm trying to fight it.
Anders:
Also, re:Titanic, you should look up the Estonia disaster. A passenger ferry on Östersjön sank. Of the 989 people aboard, 852 died. That's pretty bad. This was in 1994.
James:

I am finding this confusing as it is not my experience that people think that addicts dying from an overdose 'got what they deserved' its usually seen as a tragedy that they were addicted in the first place and a greater tragedy that they died.
Eco Terrorists, I am assuming are people who would take extreme measures to protect the environment such as shooting poachers on sight? I think poachers should be caught & jailed for a long time but I wouldn't lose any sleep if they were shot & killed.
