I've heard it said that satire is skepticism with a wry smile.
Actually, I think I've said that.
Over the years I've shared some of my satire writing on The Chicago Dope. Much of it is science/skepticism based but there's a lot of sports, politics and pop culture as well. I've also had a chance to interact with some fabulous writers and took up a project to collect some of the best non-Onion content out on the internet.
So yesterday, I hit the button and published an anthology of some great stories published in 2011. If you have a few bucks to spare, check out Net's Best Satire, Vol 1 at
http://www.amazon.com/Nets-Best-Satire-Vol-ebook/dp/B007T7PO6W/ref=zg_bs_156286011_3. A Nook version is expected to be available this weekend. You can download free readers for your Mac, PC, iDevices if need be.
If Kindle-ing isn't your bag, I urge you to visit a few sites and check them out for some great writing. CAP News, The Indy Tribune, The Washington Fancy, NewsMutiny, Humortimes, etc. Also Humorfeed is a great way to see a short list of daily submissions from a few dozen sites.
Enjoy.
