When one person suffers from a delusion it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion it is called religion.

I know Levon Helm hated The Last Waltz but it does not get any better then this.

I don't get why anyone would have The Last Waltz. That's pretty much the seminal concert movie.

Levon is the best part of the movie IMHO--his performances are great, and he is the best interview.

I know why he hates it, and he's right in his view I think. All too often it looks like the "Robbie Robertson movie", and it almost looks like Scorsese went out of his way to make Richard Manuel look bad and virtually ignore Garth Hudson altogether.

Still I have that movie on (and the sound up LOUD) every Thanksgiving while I am making the meal.

One piece of Trivia on why most of The Band hated it. Watch any song where Robbie Robinson isn't the singer on the song and they will show him singing half the time. When the band played live most the members would sing along to help keep time and they would cut all but the main singers mic. So when Levon or Rick Danko are preforming they keep cutting to Robinson despite him not having a mic on. And they do ignore Garth quite a bit. After Robinson, Garth wrote the second largest proportions of their songs.
