Who's that noisy - Steve Spangler
http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/experiment/nails-for-breakfastI'll be interested to hear the SGU take on the Steve Spangler video, which I think Steve said would be discussed next week. It puts two favourite skeptical issues into conflict with each other: debunking of phony health scares versus debunking the promotion of food supplements.
I wonder whether the line will be (1) "Don't be silly, it's perfectly safe to eat metallic iron", (2) "Look how supplements in food can be dangerous to you", (3) A balance somewhere between the two, or (4) Something else I haven't thought of yet.
Usually the skeptical response to most things can be guessed by reference to the usual responses to standard issues, but in this case it's a fight between two tropes pulling in opposite directions, so I wouldn't like to call which one it will be.
