Let me get this straight.

A Jew made fun of a silly picture of a nearly naked woman. As a result the head of an organization that exists to defend a tax-exempt pedophile club is threatening to organize a boycott to get the Jew to apologize.

Did I miss anything important in that summary?

The Jew is smart, funny and has enough media clout to make Donohue look more of an ass that usual to people who may never have heard of him?
Nobody these days holds the written word in such high esteem as police states do.  What statistic allows one to identify the Nations where Literature enjoys true consideration better than the sums appropriated for controlling and suppressing it.

A donkey and a bunch of sheep taking a dump just  cubits away from a newborn baby Jesus= OK

A woman's vagina near the newborn baby Jesus = NOT OK

Well, we already knew Bill Donahue is terrified of women. He was raised Catholic. I'm sure he never once contemplated the fact that Jesus emerged from a Vagina.

Meh,

I was raised catholic too.
There's a pretty wide gamut in that world, and there is a pretty healthy number of Catholics with a fairly… "earthy" understanding of biological functions. (esp in comparison to other christians)

Donohue's problem isn't that he's Catholic.

His problem is he's a fucking douchebag.

Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate the distinction and will do my best to not repeat the error in the future.

I thought the '90s talk icon was popping his head up for some reason.
It's Bill "Donohue", which I mention only for search accuracy.
And for your search accuracy I will point out you're talking about "Phil" Donahue.
(and calling him a '90s talk icon kind of devalues the first 2 decades of his show)

If that doesn’t work, we can guarantee that his reputation will never be the same.

Absolutely correct. Stewart's reputation will improve immeasurably thanks to Donahue's tantrum.

Sincere question.......why does anyone respond to anything Bill Donohue says?

We're talking about a man who was up in arms over Kathy Griffin's Emmy speech.   He's not exactly known for raising 'substantive' objections/points when it comes to the free speech covered by the parody/satire 'section' of the 1st amendment.

Never seen anything that the Catholic Church has done that Bill Donahue had even not approved of. . .
Somebody should convince him that the church is planning to start child sacrifices (as in Jeptha's Daughter) and see what he comes up with to defend it. ::)

Now I'm reminded of how much I miss Phil :(   I remember, as a kid, on the days when I'd be sick/home from school, I'd watch 'Donahue' from 9-10am with my mom (funny how we remember the time slots of shows we loved ~ weekdays, 12:00pm Flintstones, 12:30pm Rocket Robin Hood)

And Vince, your comment about the "90s talk icon" thing was exactly what I was going to say :)  I mean, wasn't his infamous interview with Madalyn Murray O'Hair from 1967??  (I wish I'd been around to see that).  I do really miss his show.......he was always intelligent and compassionate and interested, and at his best doing those 'provocative' topics.  I really can't think of any current talk show host who comes even close to him.

jump to 4:34 in the clip (he's talking about himself and his father-in-law, Danny Thomas)........it sums up Donahue's legacy :)

him describing how the 'music of his life' changed when he married Marlo cracked me up too (5:50)

Why does anybody respond to Kirk Cameron or Ray Comfort?

I wonder if Jon is going to respond to this on his show.

Ought to be pretty entertaining if he does.

There are a lot of good reasons to hate The Daily Show.  This is not one of them.
