Ah man, I thought you woke up behind the wheel of an unknown sports car parked at the zoo, naked (save for the whipped cream), and with a grocery sack full of mysteriously damp bras and panties in the passenger seat.

I gotta say, that thread title in this subforum...well, I was expecting something rather more salacious.

Like he got drunk and ended up in the kind of situation that only could happen once in a life time or in a 1970'd porno?  ;D

Let me get better first and I'll see what I can do >:D.

Hmmm...  Well, no shots for me so who knows.  Honestly, I was just really, really, really out of it this morning and this felt like the weirdest thing ever to me.  Now I'm just mildly curious.

So I've had a cold for the last day or two, but no real fever and last night something I've never experienced before happened.  I got the chils for.close to 2 hours but still didn't have a fever.  Try a bit of googling, but nothing came up other than forum posts asking the same question and unsure suggestions that it might be viral.  Any thoughts?
Do you know that you don't/didn't have a fever, or did you just not feel like you have a fever?

Chills are caused by rapid muscle contraction and relaxation, and are the body's way of generating heat when it feels that it is cold.

Maybe you were just cold.

Alcohol doesn't kill brain cells.

Which ruins my plans for weaponizing whiskey for use in the zombie apocalypse.

Well, I wasn't warm to the touch (wife says that too) but I was also a little cold in bed too.  Still, I was uncontrollably shaking and breathing heavily for over an hour despite warming myself up.  I've never had that happen to me unless I have a really bad fever.

Eh, if you didn't take your temp with a thermo-meter, then you might have had a fever and not known it. Or your brain got confused.

I've had chills when food poisoned, btw. Not a fever (that I know of), but my body decided it was cold. I'm guessing that it was an inappropriate response from my body.

Yeah, I guess brain confusion probably is the most likely.  When I've had chills before, the fever was so bad I was sweating through my clothes.

from the intro to the article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fever

Quote
Fever (also known as pyrexia[1]) is a common medical sign characterized by an elevation of temperature above the normal range of 36.5–37.5 °C (98–100 °F) due to an increase in the body temperature regulatory set-point.[2] This increase in set-point triggers increased muscle tone and shivering.

As a person's temperature increases, there is, in general, a feeling of cold despite an increasing body temperature. Once the new temperature is reached, there is a feeling of warmth.

I think that's just saying that the patient's perception is that they are cold despite increased body temp.  The body would still be warmer though which should be noticeable to the touch.  My point was that my body temp didn't appear to be raised.  I also was pointing out that when I've had chills before, my body was so hot that I was sweating bullets.
