Wow.. I honestly thought he wouldn't have the physical skills to still be even briefly considered for an NFL roster after all this time out of the game. Good for him.

And really, everyone who railroaded him into prison including the accuser, the DA, and the jury should all die a death by a thousand paper cuts. Fucking racist ass holes.

Yep, he's in Seahawks minicamp, although apparently he's nowhere near being in football shape. OTOH, this is a kid who was recruited pretty hard by Pete Carroll when he was coaching as USC so he may be pretty gifted athletically. I still think he's a longshot, a much longer longshot than people are figuring, in fact, but it is a nice story. Actually, scratch that. It's a very sad story with a nice-ish ending.

It's a horribe story.  Banks is a better person than me.  I could never forgive someone who sent me to jail for ten years and collected a million+ from the state as well.

How did she get that much money from the state? Some sort of welfare situation?

And yeah, I could not find forgiveness. I would seethe and rage.

And kudos to Pete Carroll. I vacillate between loving and loathing that guy, but right now I'm leaning toward loving. Even if nothing comes of this, at least he had the balls to say that he was going to give the kid a shot at his dream.

Really? An unscrupulous person managed to blow a million dollars in ten years? This is my shocked tone of voice. I am shocked.

That's more money than I make in 20 years and I can guarantee you that if I came into that windfall it would be twenty years before I'd spent it all.

Speaking of the Giants.. kind of a dick move by Belichick to steal Ballard off waivers, but hey.

Not rerally.  He took advantage of a mistake by the Giants.  Office fumbles are just as playable as field fumbles.

It wasn't a mistake, it was a necessity given the labyrinthine regulations regarding PUP/IR/etc.. The Giants did what they're supposed to do unless they want to carry a dead spot on their roster for a season, which would hamstring them to a certain degree. From their point of view it would be as if the Patriots had placed Gronk or Hernandez (or Gronknandez) on waivers prior to putting them on IR. The Giants figured that there was like a .002% chance that another team would be dick enough to claim their player who was destined for at least a year on IR anyway, but Belichick has no such compunctions and he probably wanted to get some revenge on Coughlin.

<--- new to the forum

I'm a GB Packer fan... I'm still sick about how last season ended.  15-1 and tanking in the first round is unacceptable.  At least we won the SB the year before but still.  We'll get it this year though.  :)

If your sickness has a fever and the only cure is more 49ers getting stomped, I am all for a cure this very week!

More?!? The 49ers don't get stomped. They barely lose if they lose at all. If I had to bet I'd say barely lose this week, but it's close.

By the way, is Russell Wilson actually ready to be an NFL quarterback?
