Peer-Reviewed Homeopathy Smackdowns?
« on: Apr 26, 2012, 09:54:04 PM »
Hey guys. I'm working on a persuasive speech for my public speaking class. I plan on arguing against homeopathy. We specifically need peer-reviewed journal sources. I'm combing for them now, but I wondered if anybody knew of any really good ones definitively showing no difference from placebo with homeopathy? Hopefully something I can access through my school's subscriptions like Science Direct or EBSCO. Has to be a peer-reviewed journal. (Otherwise I would just cite Science-Based Medicine.)

Try PubMed.

Also, don't forget to overdose on homeopathic sleeping pills at the start of the debate. Make sure they are 100% homeopathic before you buy them; some homeopathic preparations actually have active ingredients in them.

Heehee! I'm not buying or putting anything from those quacks in my body, even if it's just sugar. I do, however, appreciate the cleverness of others, like Randi, who've done this in the past.

I've wanted to get some homeopathic sleeping pills to carry around until I find someone who actually believes that crap, but there's always the problem of not wanting to give them money.. it doesn't make much of difference given the scale of things, but it still eats at you.

So far the best peer reviewed article I've found on Homeopathy is this one:

http://www.fisica.uh.cu/biblioteca/revcubfi/2008/vol25-No.1/RCF-2501-2008-p38.pdf

from the Cuban Journal of Physics at the University of Habana. It's actually very, very good.
