books about monster lore
« on: Apr 29, 2012, 08:03:11 AM »
I have been listening to Monstertalk for a while and have decided I want to delve a bit deeper into various monster lores, so I'm looking for books that give a good overview over the mythology and history covering specific monsters. Does anyone have good recommendations along those lines?

I used to love reading threw the old Monster Manuals / Fiend Folio  for Dungeons and Dragons.

A few years ago I was working on a series of children’s books called “Surviving Monsters.”  Each books was the tale of a monster and the ways to avoid or defeat it.  It was narrated by a cartoon fox named Tripper. In the end I decided the idea was unmarketable.
