Go thru all the windows updates and reboot a few times.
Not a lot of info in there to pinpoint any specific problem.

Windows updates every second Tuesday of the month for me on Windows 7 & XP, apart from Windows Security Essentials that downloads definitions every day.

Try: My Computer > Right Click Windows Drive > Properties > Tools > Error Checking: Check Now > Auto Fix Errors & Recover Bad Sectors (it will ask you to reboot)

Did you install any updates to drivers or new hardware recently?

I'll second the updates and driver question. Drivers are almost always the cause of blue screens - particularly the video drivers. Have your tried running in safe mode?

If you have not updated in over 2 years, you might want to plan a long afternoon of downloads and reboots....I'd pick some movies to watch

Might be worth looking at the cumulative releases like SP2. There's a way to download it from microsoft. It's how administrators get updates but anyone can do it.

Do you use MacAfee by any chance? They have caused many computers at work to BSOD regularly. I have the fix for it, but it's on my work machine. If you do you MacAfee I can e-mail you the files and instructions on how to fix.

Vista with Service Pack 1. Well, it could be worse, you could be stuck on Vista. Then again, life would be better without Vista...

You probably should try for an update to Service Pack 2.
While the constant updates and forced reboots are a hassle, they are an necessary evil.

Searching for the latest drivers for graphics and sound might be a good idea along with very Java and Adobe product you have as well.

Of the five computers I use at home, the one running Vista sucks the worst. Even an older machine running XP runs better.
If you still hold the same views now as you did in high school, you probably should reexamine those views.

windows update will automatically download any service packs, you don't need to download them individually.

I always reinstalled Win XP with the newest service pack. I don't know about Vista, but Windows 7 was slower and not immediate at automatically updating to service pack 1.

At work, we use several systems for updating.  One of the best (for personal use) is Autopatcher:

http://www.autopatcher.com/forums/topic/3108-the-autopatcher-download/

It may be a bit geeky, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.  Download and run AP.  Then back that directory up to a DVD.  Next, grab a Ninite package for the apps you want:

http://ninite.com/

Back up your c:\users\ directory as well.  Sometimes it helps to boot off a Linux Live CD and back up outside of Windows.  Windows won't always display all files and even if it does, it won't allow you to copy them all.

Last step is a full re-install, run Autopatcher to update, run Ninite, and then restore *some* (music, photos, videos, \appdata\roaming\ of your c:\users\ directory.

Some searching seems to point to faulty RAM or PSU.  Use something like Memtest86+ to diagnose that.  Use Prime95 to stress the CPU to find errors there.  If it's a gaming PC, check into FurMark to find problems:
