Me and Ms. Xptical turned it off almost right away...
...it became just another (bad) cop show.
I don't understand how you can judge something as bad when you haven't seen all of it. I've seen the premiere a few times (shared it with others) and just finished the second episode and I still don't know if it's a good show. It's got a lot going for it, but also a lot of potential pitfalls which could kill it so at the moment I'm cautiously optimistic and will reserve my judgment until I can see what the rhythm it settles into looks like.
Maybe I wrote it off too soon, but I really long for a hard sci-fi show that doesn't just use tech as a MacGuffin to pass off stupid concepts...
What you long for and what they produce don't have to line up to make a decent show. They certainly aren't explaining in great detail all of the tech but they are at least including relatively plausible technobabble behind a lot of the tech. The main thing that falls into what you're talking about is her suit though; they haven't explained what it is or how it works and has so far turned her invisible, changed color, displayed images and videos on par with a cell screen, hacked an ATM, hacked remote car locks and starters, emitted electrical shocks, absorbed pretty much all damage from direct bullet hits, and sent text messages exceeding 160 characters. So far it doesn't bother me as most of its abilities are related to others (like changing colors and camouflaging), but it's not to hard to see it start dispensing Bat shark repellent either.
Still, this show looks like it might keep us guessing about what's going to happen next, what happened in the past, and who really has the world's best interests at heart and that I like a lot. It also appears as if there will be plenty of flashbacks to the future so we may get to explore that more as well and who knows; maybe if they are successful and get a larger budget, we may get some storylines set in 2077 as well.
