I wish they had handled Ned's memories and dreams in the TV show somehow. But they didn't, and that is gonna make the reveal of Jon's parents less dramatic on the show.

Also, I am surprised at how many of the actors are completely ignorant of the books.

I remember reading that the makers of the show had decided on no flash-backs, memory scenes, etc. Part of the trouble with making a TV show of ASoIaF is not being able to do the POV thoughts that a character has.

Sounds to me like Ned Stark isn't Jon Snow's father.

Discuss.

Dude... you have no idea. It's absolutely brilliant and very important to the series. I assume that Martin plans to "reveal" it dramatically at some point, but there is a mountain of circumstantial evidence making the case pretty clear. Woah. I didn't pick up on that.

I always thought that might be the case, only Robert seemed to hate Rhaegar, but I had no idea there was so much evidence. The "bard" clue blew my mind, I always thought the title of the series meant something else.

And this is aggravated by the fact that the Reeds are not in the TV show.  We get a lot of hints on Jon's parents from them, when they tell Bran those stories.

Not to mention their father is the only man left alive who knows the truth for certain.

Reeds are confirmed for season 3, but I wonder how Bran, Rickon, Osha and Hodor are going to run into them so far north of the marshlands or wherever they're from.

Eh, they can have Jojen find them using greenseeing. "My green dreams kept telling me to go this way. Dad got me started or something." The theme of the season would/could be him getting Bran to awaken his latent abilities anyway.

Well, making the Reeds part of a group of Wildlings or Hill Tribes some such thing would remove the need to explain the intricate relationship of the Starks and the Crannogmen that although fascinating, and adding to the richness of the story, isn't really relevant to the current plot.

Though Howland Reed is going to be vital to the story much later. (If a theory I've heard is correct)  So, they'd have to figure out how to work him in...

Game of Thrones Season 3: New Cast Members - Comic Con

Even more new actors

I think Tormund, the Reeds and Thoros are brilliantly cast, but all of them seem pretty darn good.

I haven't read the books but the actors are pretty good. Ellie Kendrick was impressive as Anne Frank. Diana Rigg, from the ASOIAF wiki seems like excellent casting. Anton Lesser's good in Vanity Fair, Little Dorrit, and The Hour. I'm happy Tara Fitzgerald is in a popular show, she's done way too little for such a good actor, things like The Woman in White, Jane Eyre, and Waking the Dead.

Jojen in particular just looks really Jojen-y. Nice job. Hopefully he can act too.

The actor playing Jojen is a very experience child actor, been in many films and TV series. I think he'll play the role well.

EDIT: I said child actor only to go and find out from his wiki page he's 22. But still, he was an accomplished child actor when he was still a child.

McKenzie Crook was the goofball "Dwight Schrute" from the original Office.
