Salt, We Misjudged You
« on: Jun 27, 2012, 11:56:36 AM »
Lately I've been considering my salt intake, and I found this article while perusing the 'net for info. I thought it was quite interesting (and maybe surprising if all you've ever heard is anti-salt rhetoric). Salt intake seems to be one of those areas that's a bit nebulous at the moment.

Anyway, I decided to do a bit of data gathering, and painstakingly tracked all my food today. I worked out all the macronutrients plus sodium and potassium levels. I was slightly alarmed to learn my daily salt intake is about 16 grams, haha.

It'd be great to hear some thoughts on this issue.

Fucking right. If Jesus didn't intend for us to eat oil-tanker-sized servings of salt, he wouldn't have made it taste so damned good.

You want good?  Ever used smoked salt?  That stuff is the Devil.
Nobody these days holds the written word in such high esteem as police states do.  What statistic allows one to identify the Nations where Literature enjoys true consideration better than the sums appropriated for controlling and suppressing it.
