Sriracha is nothing like Mexican hot sauce. It's different. It's special. It's a wonderful, beautiful, and a many blessed splendid thing that gives meaning to an otherwise vacuous and barren existence in this mortal coil.

It is the only evidence ever produced of a god or gods.

... and there are different brands that are exquisitely different.

Red curry sauce and coconut milk makes a dandy Thai dish.

Got to try that one. I've heard of it, but never got around to getting the ingredients.

The recipe on the Thai Red curry paste is a really good start.

coconut milk
Thai red curry paste
brown sugar
fish sauce
ginger
vegetables (frozen peas, red/green pepper, thinly sliced onion or anything really)
thinly sliced chicken if wanted
little chicken broth with some corn starch for a silky texture
lime juice
shredded basil

I could write up a complete recipe if needed.

Over Jasmin rice, of course.
If you still hold the same views now as you did in high school, you probably should reexamine those views.

Okay, this is the type of passion I was after. Did a smidgen of reading; is the Huy Fong brand a good one?

Over Jasmin rice, of course.

I scorn Jasmin rice! Actually I like it, but ever since finding sticky rice in Laos, I'd much rather have that whenever rice is called for.

THick Rice noodles are the best.  Chewy with a bit of crispness from the wok.

Ordered one of these, too (Zyliss Susi 3). Can't wait for delivery. Sick of fiddling around with garlic prep, and the resulting finger-stench.

I've never been happy with any garlic press I've owned.  You'll have to tell us if you like it.

I've always found it easier to just get the little bottles of diced garlic in oil.  Every once in a while WHole Paycheck will have shallots the same way...so easy and so tasty.

I'm old school hipster.  Sticky fingers means I worked harder and am therefore more awesome.  Painfully small dicing ftw.

Same here ... I can't count how many I've thrown away and the only one I still have is this:

and I have to have a LOT of garlic to process to pull it out.

The messier the kitchen the better the food.   ;D ;D

I don't mind messes, I live alone though, and if I buy garlic either whole or pre-peeled, it tends to go bad before I can use it all.  The bottled stuff lasts longer.

Absolutely. I did a bit of research, and it seemed to be the best one at the most reasonable price. Apparently you don't even have to peel the garlic. But I'll try to remember to keep you guys in the loop.

Don't have to peel the garlic?  Inconceivable!
