I've lived in Germany and Florida and would say there is no comparison.  Except for the guy who asked his lover to kill and eat him German weirdness is mostly harmless.  Florida is just whackadoodle.
Isn't there something going on with neo-Nazis in Germany or whatever?
To be fair, its not as though we don't have neo-nazi's in the US.
They're all in FL. AYE OHH! No, Neos and skinheads are everywhere. It's a very troubling situation.

Citizen Radio has been bashing FL for like a week now. It is hiLARIous! First few minutes of every show, well, not today's, but all of last week's (mid June 2012). Cracks me well the hell up.

I'm from Jacksonville. Recently I had to move back to deal with property and financial issues from Canada. Wife and I can't wait to get back.

Back in February, Eugenie Scott gave a talk at the University of South Florida about Florida's "Critical Thinking" bills.

The fact they use the term "critical thinking" to describe them is an abomination.

EDIT: Florida's "Critical Thinking" bills: Creationism du jour?

What else can be expected from fundy mindsets that believe homosexuality is caused by deminic possession? I'm wondering, how do the gay demons enter a person? Do they come in through the rear? Is that why Mormons wear magic underwear?

Yes, that IS why Mormons wear magic underwear. Good insight, Marty!

Not yet. We've haven't even covered cults. But if someone wants to see how Scientology attacked and tried to discredit the mayor of Clearwater, FL then read this:

Also a heartfelt apology from an former Scientologist:
