Conspiracy Theory Org Charts
« on: Jun 19, 2012, 09:36:04 AM »
I've been reading 'Among the Truthers: A Journey through America's growing Conspiracy Underground' and there is a discussion of crazy org charts made up by conspiracy theorists.  Here are some of them I've found:

These are fun for the whole family.

And perhaps the BEST one:

OMG, I've volunteered with rebuilding together and I've watched the News Hour, I'm part of the conspiracy.

I like as most of them seem to be bi-partisan with groups and people that appear to be on the opposite side of the political spectrum all cooperating to keep the masses down and the few that put people in charge that I've never heard of.  David Rae Griffin?

Haha my company isn't listed but I know we do business with all of them.
The conspiracy doesn't know about us yet.

I thought this would be an org chart of conspiracy theories (which ones reinforce each other, which ones contradict each other, which ones branched off from others, ect.).  Something like the Periodic Table of Woo except specifically for conspiracy theories and in org chart form.  That would be pretty nice.
Oh Yeah!

Are there a lot of Merovingians still around? Always be on the lookout for them!

Anyway, the book is pretty good and points out the left and right BOTH have the same conspiracy theories in many respects, they just blame different groups for the conspiracy.  Take JFK for example.  Leftists tend to blame the CIA and the Military Industrial concept.  Rightists tend to blame Castro and the Mafia.

I am SO feeling the love here :P

I find it sorta funny because they all remind me of the 90s style html websites with annoying tiled background that have walls of text in various colors and fonts.  I'm super interested in reading them when I first get there, and then about 4 sentences down, I'm just thinking BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH....and done.  Then I scroll.  And scroll.  Finally the shameless self promotion side bar ends and I keep scrolling.  Scroll some more.  The links to a billion other conspiracy websites on the sidebars end.  And then it's 15 more minutes of scrolling before you get the hit counter.  And then, there's a little more scrolling.  And by then, I've given myself a migraine and a seizure.
