Thunderfoot on Misogyny
seaotter:
MISOGYNIST!!!
Thunderfoot says that he will step back from his policy of not dealing with trivial matters and talk about those of us who have been dividing the community as opposed to acting like Paton and focusing one goal. What is the goal? I'd say the goal should be to make skeptics. Some of u's think that some of this trivia is an impediment to that goal.

I hope someone told thunderf00t to put on his flak jacket. INCOMING!!
Here's the blog post and of course the first commenter rips him a new one:

pandamonium:
How very kind of him to deign to address "trivial" matters.
Lzrd:
Man, that comments section is a goddamn mess to follow.
On topic though, he's articulately and elaborately missing the point. Nothing new here.
superdave:
I thought that post by thunderfoot was poor. It was filled with anecdotal evidence and was overly dismissive. The questions are not just how big is the problem at conferences, but how important is the problem, what is the potential benefit from trying to do better? Even if the issue is small (and I don't think it is) it doesn't mean that the benefits do trying to solve it don't outweigh the costs.
