I'm trying again, but obviously I'm back checking SGUF again...
I'll try to be fair then at least based on your word and read some of his other stuff, though I'm really put off by this post. The content is bad enough on it's own, but the writing is difficult to follow.

Never mind I really was talking his science YouTube stuff. He blows up stuff and destroys creationist arguments with actual science.

What's not to like about that?!
I live behind a firewall that blocks the ewetubes. I'll look tonight for blowing up stuff.

He was also crazy enough to try and debate Bananaman.
Nobody these days holds the written word in such high esteem as police states do.  What statistic allows one to identify the Nations where Literature enjoys true consideration better than the sums appropriated for controlling and suppressing it.

As much respect as I have for Thunderfoot's youtube presence, this is probably a realm he should have just not entered.

What does it say about the movement when the only way we can avoid sounding sexist is by avoid topics related to sex or gender?  This is exactly the sort of thing that convinced me that the sexism problem in skepticism is real.

He doesn't sound sexist just dismissive.

I don't think there is much of a difference in this case.

On the whole, I agree with Thunderfoot.

Skepticism is being damaged by people placing a disproportionate amount of effort looking into trivial matters--such as how to police the behavior of individuals in bars. Equality is not trivial, nor is fighting bigotry. Inappropriate behavior should be dealt with when it happens, and it seems that inappropriate behavior has been reasonably dealt with (camera guy) when it's happened in the convention; the fuel of the "skepticism is misogynistic" idea doesn't seem to be actual misogyny, relegating it to triviality.

This is my opinion because nobody has presented any evidence for any significant issues regarding bigotry/equality at TAM or anywhere else in the skeptical community; the issue doesn't seem to deserve the furor that is raging around it.

I think it says nothing about the movement. I think everything it says is actually about human nature.
Which is why I think it needs to be, and remain, its own separate project.

Now that is where I have seen this. Stephanie and Natalie with this forum for instance. Penn pointed this phenomena out a couple months ago. Christians are idiots just look at the rattlesnake guy. You can find any example of any idiot position.
