I just sent an email to Mountain Dew asking them to start marketing the full range of proper Mountain Dew soft drinks here in the UK.   All they sell over here now is a rubbish non-diet "Mountain Dew Energy drink."

I'm with you, the selection of decent diet drinks in the UK is shit (compared to the States, that is. It's actually pretty good if you look at Italy, for instance!).

Wildly varies.  I enjoy coffee but am not addicted.

Some days it's 3-4 extra large (circa 24 oz/750ml) cups.  At other times I'll go a whole week without a single cup.  I called it 1 cup per day as an average, but it's not a satisfying answer.

um, can we define a cup as 250ml? (or the equivalent olde primitive term is in the USA)
Just to get some sort of consistency to the measurement and be a bit more objective.

We already did. :P
Let's say a cup is 250 ml (8 oz), and we're talking about a moderate strength brew, say two shots of espresso, or a couple teaspoons of instant coffee.

According to this measurement, 2 cups is my baseline for coffee. +1-2 energy drinks.

I have a cup that hold roughly 5-6 cups.

I drink anywhere from four to eight of those a day.

I'm comparing the information from the "how much do you sleep" thread with this thread in my head. I should do a chart or something to correlate caffiene intake with how much people sleep. I suspect there's a link with less sleep and more caffiene.

About 6, some days more (a lot more...) depending on if I'm out or working, if there's a Starbucks nearby, the weather.....

I'm working on cutting back though. Ideally I'd like to just have a cup when I wake up and another during the day. I've been able to stick to this intake for a few days a week for a month now. If I walk into a Barnes and Noble all bets are off though, which is probably not only unhealthy but also expensive, so I need to learn to suppress that urge.

That's why I'd like to scale back my caffiene intake; I usually get energy drinks when I'm at work, and that's money I'd rather spend on food (or beer, or books).

I normally have a cup of tea when I get up, from then on it's decaf coffee. So unless I buy/am given a coffee/coke during the day that's it. That does sometimes happen though, so I put 2 down even though most days it's less than that.
