Yeesh. Color me unexcited. It might be interesting, but I'm not holding my breath.

Seems like they're trying to play off the "Where is Richard Simmons" podcast. Also, there's other podcasts doing to unsolved murders thing now.

Yeah, it does seem just a little bit like if Serial took on the case of a case similar to Adnan's, there'd be some disappointment if the suspect turned out to be guilty or whatever or even if the story itself was just not as compelling for whatever reason (including the case to set the original convicted person free being *too* cut and dried). Serial was ground breaking in that it alerted people to the fact that you could do a reasonably intellectual take on true crime and have it be really popular. I personally enjoyed Season 2, although I guess part of that was because I understood that it would never hit the high notes that Season 1 did and I just decided to like it for what it was. And since then there have been a *lot* of really good unsolved murder podcasts which would be compared, fairly or unfairly, to the new season of Serial, and I for one would find it very hard to see them being able to top something like Making a Murderer (not a podcast but hit the same nerve) or In The Dark.

Really? A band? Fingers crossed that's good.

Sounds like "The Blues Brothers" all over again.

To be clear, I don't think they should do another murder mystery. My complaint is that season 3's topic seems... lame. Of course, it may turn out to be their best season.

You're pulling my leg.

The Serial team and TAL are releasing a new show, that was kind of billed as a Season 3 called S-town.

JOHN DESPISES HIS ALABAMA TOWN AND DECIDES TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. HE ASKS a reporter to investigate the son of a wealthy family who's allegedly been bragging that he got away with murder. But then someone else ends up dead, sparking a nasty feud, a hunt for hidden treasure, and an unearthing of the mysteries of one man's life.

Seriously, that link you had, showed a story called "Some People Swear the Red Hot Chili Peppers Released a Decent Album" I think it's a music based rip off of the Onion.

Son of a bitch. Not pulling your leg. Looks like I've been had.

I didn't worry about the source since I googled something so seemingly unworthy of lying about. I googled  "when is serial season 3"

Sheesh.  I feel stupid for falling for that.  Didn't know anything about Fugazi and didn't really care to look it up so I didn't even think to question it.  For all I knew, it was some long-lived mystery that has baffled people the world over who cared.

Honestly the only reason I questioned it was because, last week I got an email from Sarah telling me about the new show. The timing of the post was really perfect, If you had posted the link just a couple days earlier I might have fallen for it too.

Let us never talk about this again. (skeptics.)

I am excited for this series thou. and I like that they are dropping it all at once (on my birthday, woot!)

No, the 28th when the new show drops, and I wish AQB a happy birthday.

I don't feel stupid, but I am relieved though. No Fugazi! (sorry Jeremy's Sea)
