Have the moderator or administrator team(s) made any attempts to track down by meatspace identity?

Is there any particular reason you're asking us that?

Of course. Short answer being: It could potentially cause me problems.

Umm.  That's very strange.  I can say that the moderators really don't care at all who you are.  Here's a question for you.  Have you attempted to track down the meatspace identity of any of the moderators?

All right. Then let me assure you that we don't care in the slightest. As I've said before, we only concern ourselves with whether you stick to the forum rules or not. If it was somehow revealed that you're Carl XVI Gustaf, we'd go: 'Huh, how about that?' - and then we'd move on with our lives.

Not really. The only people I have ideas of their meatspace identities are some of those who put links to their Facebook or or Twitter profiles in their profiles here.

Thanks for the detailed reply. So they have more of a from-the-top view of it then, rather than being much directly involved.

If you don't mind me asking (I suppose I probably shouldn't ask it, but I can't help myself), have you written anything about me?

If members have a conflict with the moderators, they're free to appeal to Jay...

So I'm expecting to hear Jay on the podcast at some point go "Guys...STOP WITH THE EMAILS!! MY GOD WHAT IS GOING ON THERE!?"

Do they ever read the 'Podcast Change Suggestion' thread?  I'd love for them to make a segment out of an international news item every week.

I doubt they do to a significant degree.

Your suggestion is interesting, but I guess it would be hard to carry out. They would probably need familiarity with the language and culture there to do it properly, or have a contact with those skills. It's much more easy to do research when you can understand the language rather than having to rely on someone else for the information.

That said, they have reported stuff from Denmark recently. But I suppose that info is available in English.

CSI has some articles about South Korea:

A Korean Skeptic’s Report: New Ager-Occupied Territory
South Korean Skeptics Work to Promote Science-Based Medicine

I agree with you that more stuff outside of the Anglophone world would be interesting, but as said, it is probably hard for them to research to a significant degree due to the language barrier.

When they first started this forum, the Rogues were very active in it.  Steve, Rebecca, and especially Perry used to engage in long exchanges in many threads.  As time went on, they participated less and less, I suppose because it became boring and seemingly pointless to have the same conversations over and over again.
