Forum Autoblocked
« on: February 03, 2016, 08:13:44 AM »
So up until today I could access the forums from work. As of today the forums are Autoblocked.

The reason it gives is kinda cool though:

"Site has high traffic volume for a very recent registration." Apparently this makes the filtering software assume the site must be hosting malware or porn

Apparently the forums get so much traffic the filter just assumed it was a porn Site.

I agree with Clunn, which makes me feel all weird inside.

That's strange.  Our domain was registered in 2009, and no changes have been made to the registration for over a year.

Somehow I doubt my office will let me use a VPN.

Not a big deal since I have my phone.

Its always possible that the filters went a little wild. They once blocked us from using Westlaw. I work at a law firm...

A lot of times filters have unintended consequences. For a while, we couldn't get to any site that wasn't white listed in the proxy filter. Didn't take them too long to see what a stupid idea that was.  ;)
