He was one of the greats.  It is hard to even come close to estimating all that he did for music.

Agreed. I own every piece of music the Beatles recorded, but without Martin, I suggest that would have been just a really good covers band. The BBC sessions are interesting in making comparisons, because these were largely recorded without Martin, and in more of a hurray.
Great as history, but not so much as creative music.

I get that he was a respected and influential figure but I just never cared for his style of production.
In fact it took me many forced attempts to even listen to the Beatles. Even now while I enjoy many Beatles songs, the production is my least favorite part.

I just watched a movie about an album GM did in 1998 - not sure why I never heard of this, very interesting.



He invited an assortment of entertainers to do Beatles songs in unique ways.
Amend and resubmit.
