It is my intention that the game generally run by consensus, so I will ask everyone to hash these things out in this thread. If a consensus cannot be reached, I will make a final ruling.
I will say this, however: I intentionally did not create a rule prohibiting entries with known diagnoses because many diagnoses are not what they used to be. People live for decades with HIV, MS, Parkinson's, etc. and for years with incurable cancer. I don't personally believe that Charlie Sheen should be excluded merely because he is HIV+, for instance; or Michael J. Fox because of his long-standing Parkinson's diagnosis. These are manageable chronic conditions. Nor do I think we exclude young actors and musiciansknown to have drug and alcohol addictions.
That said, there are a lot of points at stake in this case, and a glioblastoma, however responsive to treatment, is not yet a chronic condition. If the consensus is that this entry in particular is unfair, I don't think that's unreasonable. What say you?
