Debra Tate, said she holds “no ill will” toward the cult leader and his flock — and might even shed a tear for him if his condition gets worse.

I'm not sure I could be as forgiving in her situation

It's really sad to think that society wants to see this guy get all old and broken down for revenge.  The humane thing to do would have been to lethally inject him 30 years ago.

LOL, from the Borowitz Report:

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)—Amid reports that Charles Manson is ill, the Donald Trump transition team has removed his name from its list of potential Supreme Court nominees.

I am not the mod, but I do not think so.

No, but you can't score on anybody who dies in the first two weeks after your list is approved.

It is never too late to join.  I designed the game with that in mind.  There's just a two-week waiting period after you submit your list.  If someone on your list dies during the waiting period, you can submit a replacement, who will also be subject to the waiting period. Rules are in the first post.

I'm calling for a ruling on Gord Downie since it is well known he has terminal brain cancer.

Previous incarnations of this game had a rule to exclude people with a terminal illness to avoid snagging up easy points.

It is my intention that the game generally run by consensus, so I will ask everyone to hash these things out in this thread.  If a consensus cannot be reached, I will make a final ruling.

I will say this, however: I intentionally did not create a rule prohibiting entries with known diagnoses because many diagnoses are not what they used to be.  People live for decades with HIV, MS, Parkinson's, etc. and for years with incurable cancer.  I don't personally believe that Charlie Sheen should be excluded merely because he is HIV+, for instance; or Michael J. Fox because of his long-standing Parkinson's diagnosis.  These are manageable chronic conditions.  Nor do I think we exclude young actors and musiciansknown to have drug and alcohol addictions.

That said, there are a lot of points at stake in this case, and a glioblastoma, however responsive to treatment, is not yet a chronic condition.  If the consensus is that this entry in particular is unfair, I don't think that's unreasonable.  What say you?
