And since I'm obviously correct on all counts, we can move on to the next one.

WEEK ONE,  JANUARY

Sun, Jan 1:  To ensure good luck in the coming year, the people of Spain place 12 river stones in their mouth as the clock strikes 12:00 AM on New Year's Eve.

Mon, Jan 2: Throwing furniture out of the window is a traditional New Year's custom in some parts of South Africa, so avoiding an open window must also be a New Year's tradition.

Tue, Jan 3: "First-Footing" is a Scottish New Year's tradition.  It requires the first person entering a home after midnight of the New Year to bring a gift for good luck.

Wed, Jan 4: Young children in Austria visit every house in their community on the first morning of the New Year, singing New Year's carols.

Thu, Jan 5: Almost 35 percent of all college freshmen worked on a political campaign in the late 1960s.

Fri, Jan 6: Olive oil massaged into the hair and scalp for 30 minutes at least once a week will stimulate hair growth in healthy adults.

WEEK TWO,  JANUARY

Mon, Jan 9: In Indian and Tanzanian folklore, hyenas are the preferred means of transportation for witches.

Tue, Jan 10:Susan Sarandon didn't get the role of Adrian, Rocky Balboa's girlfriend in the movie Rocky, because the director thought she was too tall to co-star with the 5'7" Sylvester Stallone.

Since there is a backlog, you have until Wed AM to answer them all.  Good luck!

Sun, Jan 01

The tradition in Spain called The Twelve Grapes of Luck is to eat 12 grapes, one grape with every bell chime on New Year's Eve, to ensure prosperity for the coming year. What a 'grape' idea!

Mon, Jan 02

In with the new, out with the old - South African style!

Tue, Jan 03

A 'first-footer' without a gift gets the 'BOOT'!

Wed, Jan 04

B-Sharp' and begin the year on a 'high-note', like the Austrians.

Thu, Jan 05

Only 16.4 percent of kids entering college in the 1960s worked on a political campaign, but that is a lot more than the 9 percent of college freshmen who worked on a political campaign in 2012!  Are 'fresh' men rejecting 'stale' politics?

Fri, Jan 06

Olive oil massaged into the scalp and hair might be a good moisturizer, but it will not increase hair growth; it's greasy, and makes your head smell like a Caesar salad.

Mon, Jan 09

Worldwide the hyena has a bad reputation.  For example, in the Disney film The Lion King, hyenas are villains, and one of these hyena villains has a name that means 'barbarous' in Swahili - Shenzi.  Bad 'actors'!

Tue, Jan 10

Sarandon wanted the part, but the directors thought she was too pretty to play the anemic-looking Adrian character.  Technical knockout!

Taweret Is the ancient Egyptian goddess-protector of pregnant women and child rearing.  This goddess is most often pictured as a hefty hippopotamus standing on its back legs.

I know it's petty and all, but I think I got four right rather than three.

You did, but that is just a summary for last week.  The 4th one you got right was in this week.
