Gilnei:
It's a very nice discussion. And I can't deny that it's very funny to hear Dembski trying to dissociate himself from the Discovery Institute. =]
geoffI:
I enjoyed the debate and it was very civil. The only problem I had was that to the uninitiated, it really does sound like two opposite yet equal sides of a scientific debate.
Shermer did well on the philisophical issues (especially the ID leading to intelligent alien part) but he's really not qualified to deal with the science.
He could have brought up a signficant amount of molecular level stuff to trash Demski's arguments.
I was somewhat disappointed in that one regard.
What do you think?
Leigh:
Shermer was a little quiet wasn't he.
But I did get the feeling that the host was looking forward to throwing out that 'Where's the science' question to Dembski.
That kind of made up for it.
