Anyone here read this? I got it last month, and for a French 1840's classic, it's very readable. I have the Penguin Classics translation, and it's quite high quality. I suggest you read it.

I read it in like 6th grade, its very well written but the main thing I focused on was that the author's name is dumas, which I pronounced dumb ass (shawshank redemption refrence).  Movies miss a lot of the coolest details of the movie but they pick up most of the major parts.

I thought it was a pretty good read.  Do you have the long version?
I agree that the movies capture some of the essence, but for full revenge, read the book.
That which does not kill me, postpones the inevitable.

Read it years ago. Remember it as pretty good indeed.

There is a bit more action in "The Three Musceteers" by the same author, but here you have to be absolutely sure to get the full version. Probably not seen as "good" literature anymore, but the story ticks along well enough :)

i read it twice it was so good, the enire time i was thinking about this book's influence on batman
