Book related incidents

Mrs B:
Anyone had something strange happen to them in a book related way?

The strangest book related thing that ever happened to me was about eleven years ago. I was reading 120 days of Sodom by D.A.F. de Sade on the train. This nicely dressed man had been sitting opposite me for well over an hour. Suddenly, when we pulled into a station, the guy got up and exclaimed:"How can you stand to read such filth!" and then got off the train. I was absolutely stunned!
Did it take him over an hour to gather up some courage to speak to me? I would have loved to ask him why he taught it was filth and if he had really read the book or just heard about it.

Apeiron:
I met Bill Clinton at a book signing event.

Johnny Fahrenheit:
I was at a Mattew Reilly book-signing in Melbourne. Me and a friend talked to him for about half-an-hour afterwards. He was quite nice. Then, on the way out I ran into Geoffry Rush. It's about the 6th time I've run into him. He's got a house near where I live.

David Sedaris let me cut to the front of his book signing line because I was a smoker and had a light. There were atleast 100 people ahead of me.  He signed my book " chris, don't ever quit" he was talking about smoking.

Johnny Fahrenheit:
Oh, and once I was at a book signing for The Chaser Annual, and I met three of the guys from The Chaser's War on Everything.

Dominic Knight, Julian Morrow, and Andrew Hanson.

Knight talked a lot about my Communist shirt. He signed my book with "Smash The State, Dom."
