Everything is about definition. It shows how silly the whole planet/continent/etc classification systems are. It's all subjective.

I propose, as a minimum, the definition should hold no matter what changes may happen with sea level.

If you think about it, if sea levels drop to the point they were when the Bering straights were a continuous land bridge, then North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa would be all one continent. There would be only three, with Australia and Antarctica on their own.

But if ocean levels dropped much further, Antarctica and South America could be connected, and Australia and Asia could hook up, meaning there would be one continent, if you go by the contiguous land mass standard.

and Donald Trump is President of the United States.

I found this very informative.
evidence trumps experience | performance over perfection | responsibility – authority = scapegoat | emotions motivate; data doesn't

I love how Darwin is barely even visible.

A very informative visualisation, especially for people in Europe and America who don't realise just how much nothing there is out there.

Has anyone seen one of these for Australia? I've seen France, the UK, and the US (plus now NZ, obviously).

I love how there's a near-perfect circle around Mt Taranaki. I had to go to Google Maps to see what it was, and it's a protected reserve.

Yeah it shows up like that in satellite pictures too.

I love how Darwin is barely even visible.

I thought it was a speck of dirt on my screen.  I tried to wipe it off but, sadly, it's a touch screen and I wound up screwing up several files.

I lived in Darwin for a couple of years in the 1990s.
