Steven had a "science or fiction" statement about light being slowed down and transforming into matter.

The fascinating experimental work on this is described by a lead researcher on Quirks and Quarks. Go to the February 10, 2007 podcast. It's currently on iTunes; but they are paring down their list and it may soon disappear.

If you can't find light experiment on iTunes, here is a link to the podcast on the website for Quirks and Quarks: http://www.cbc.ca/quirks/archives.htm

Look for February 10, 2007 -- Stopping Light

Thank you for bringing this topic up, Steve. It is a WOW! discovery.

I wouldn't have posted this here but I am getting little response from the panel on my topics on the Suggestions message board.

Wow that stuff is so cool.

They do some funky things with those photons... what about how they were sending them back in time too.

We should totally pour billions and billions of dollars into it.
