Being half way through Michael Pollan's latest issue, I think it would be an interesting news item regarding the renewed (extensive and effective) use of psychedelics for addiction, mental health and end of life care.

There's been some of this during the discussions surrounding patent trolls, but I'd be interested in a more general deep dive on the effects of intellectual property laws on scientific and technological innovation. That is, is there any evidence to suggest that copyright and patents have either a stimulating or stifling effect on innovation, and if so, how compelling is that evidence, and under what conditions does it apply?

I'd love a segment in which Cara and Steve discuss the current state of research regarding how much of human behavior is nature vs nurture.  Also what counts as each, is the fetal environment and epigenetics nature or nurture?
