It depends on the podcast. Mostly at 1.0, I listen to the naked scientist,Scepticality and a Civil War  (usa) at 1.5. Story telling/comedy podcast I listen at normal speed.

1.3x

I could probably do faster if I weren't multi-tasking.  Usually I'm walking the dog, washing dishes, or yardwork and I miss too much at higher speeds.

Since I mostly listen to podcasts while I am driving, and I am a non-native speaker, everything faster than 1x would probably be too fast.

Thread necromancy!

I only use 1X, every time I tried the faster settings it felt too frantic, and actually made me a bit anxious.

1x, and for exactly the same reason as you.

At what speed do you make love? A good book or conversation is something I want to savour.

Sure, but sometimes you just want to hit that thing with all the passion and enthusiasm you can muster.

Anywhere from x½ (transcriptions) to x2 (most news shows). If there are accents I'm less familiar with x1.2 to x1.8. In the car I rarely go faster than x1.5. If it's a really complex topic or there's music that's part of the show, I listen at x1.

Pretty much everything at 2x, once I'm used to the hosts' accents. Otherwise, everyone sounds drunk. I stopped using iTunes because it doesn't have a speed dial.
