I would like to direct you all to 1998 Ig nobel winner Troy Hurtubise for debate on the credibility of his claims in recent years. Namely Angel light and God light.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Hurtubise#Angel_Light

In an interesting and invalid reversal of good methodology, My Hurtubis is offering money to anyone who can DISPROVE his inventions and claims! Would be nice if he would publish a paper on the invention so it could be reviewed but I guess his brand of 'science' doesn't work that way.

The Onion rocks. The beautiful thing about that article is if you simply substitute the subject matter with alternative medicine, the text and logic can otherwise read exactly.

It would be interesting to show that article to 100 random americans without revealing the source and survey them for their assessment:

1 - This guy is a dangerous crank.
2 - His claims are questionable, but not impossible
3 - While out of the mainstream, and perhaps improbable, his claims deserve to be investigated
4 - His claims and methods are just as valid as other scientists and should be given a fair shake.
5 - This guy is a genius who is being opressed by a closed-minded scientific community.

Absolutely

How many times have you read a phrase like this at the very bottom of some article about alternative medicine or some other wacky thing

Despite his innumerable achievements, Hapner faces many experts who remain skeptical and have even declared his findings corrupt, irrational, irresponsible, and unscientific.

Wow, that is the least critical article I've ever read about this quack.

I love it, covert scientists.  Do they wear masks like Dr. McNinja?

Gary Dryfoos doesn't show up in a google search (except for links doubting his existence) and the mit website has no listing of him.  As an aside, you'd expect the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to have a better website, buy hey they're busy.

Wow no point to that quack's article he doesn't use emperical evidence then what does he use. lol moron. Hundreds of years and some retard who's too lazy to observe everything get's an article written about him. Im only 17 and could probably pull of an experiment much better than this idiot. He doesn't Use control's and he break two rules of thermodynamics and they wonder why. Is that not contradicationary that he is a scientist and go against the rules of experimenting, but i guess if I were to call him a hypocrit than thousands of others deserve the title as well.
Praise Jesus.
