if they wish to increase the number and the amount of donations made they need to change a number of things.

They should make the option to donate more prominent.
They need to offer clear options for specific donations. In other words the option to donate per episode or a donation for a specific goal. For instance an event they wish to organize, bandwidth, whatever... People will donate more if they have a good idea of what will happen with their money. If there was a clear breakdown of goals (travel, website costs, podcast costs, etc) you could choose to donate to a specific goal or to the general budget. it would also be possible to track % of funding achieved needed for an episode/year/month/goal.

Steve needs to mention the possibility of donating every single episode. He needs to ask explicitly for the donations and he needs to do so regularly. This will be more effective if he states clearly how a little can help a lot. $5 buys us.... $10 buys us.. etc.

it is clear that they are not that interested in the fundraising part and want to spend more time on the skepticism. For obvious reasons. However, they would achieve a lot more if they had more cash...

The SGUFans Link appears to be broken and sends me out of the site. I would recommend taking it out if not in use anymore.

Can you add a section to the web site that gives various methods of using smart phones to listen to the podcasts?  I've been using BeyondPod for a while but it is screwing up now and I need a new solution.  I thought I could just zip over to the web page and get some instructions for using this or that podcast player for Android, but I don't see any information like that here.

The reason I want a podcast player rather than just streaming it from the web site is so I can listen to 15 minutes on my way to work and pick up where I left off on my way home from work.  I don't think streaming from the web site lets me do that.

The store link on the website has been broken for months now, with a "Coming back soon" message displayed. Yet you keep advertising the store in the podcasts.

Is it really coming back or what's up with that?

Sorry, relatively new to the boards here.  I know someone tracks the results of Science or Fiction for you guys.  And I kinda remember there being an SGU Wiki. Is that true?  In the past year or so, I've had it in the back of my mind to look at all the news items the rogues have covered throughout all their podcasts, and develop a "Where are they now" listing...basically a spreadsheet updating periodically with those items that have crashed and burned as well as those that are slowly making progress.  If there is a wiki and volunteer support, it would be interesting to see how long it has taken Orbo to slip into oblivion. Or whether the upgrade in some battery efficiency mechanism was truly 5 years away or not. It would be sorta like "how did the rogue's predictions pan out", but instead it would be "how did science's/charlatan's predictions pan out".

Thanks for all you do. Y'all are the best!

Being able to link to timecodes in an episode, and listing a table of contents with timecodes for each item are killer features that are needed. I think it would help promote the show because it would make it more convenient for listeners to share links to relevant information.

In just the last couple weeks there's been times when I've really wanted to send someone a link that says, "You know, this podcast I listen to has actually covered this topic really well: [link]." But it would be so much easier if I could just give them a link directly to the topic instead of saying "and then jump to minute 30". Youtube makes this possible and easy, for instance here's Brian Dunning on Captain Disillusion:

Maybe this is already a feature, and I just haven't figured it out. But if you also added timecodes in your shownotes, that would make the feature more discoverable.

Hi. I am still getting familiar the site, so please forgive any oversight. I looked at the book suggestion page. On my computer, it appears as a very small box and does not have many suggestions or topics. My suggestions is to have a list format (even without links) separated by topic. And, rather than putting this all on Jay (lol), make it so that members could add to it as well. Perhaps it can also be set up with some sort of member flag/report feature in case something is added that shouldn't be there.
